FORECASTS FOR JUL Y.
By Rev. Irl. R. Hicks.
Tho first regular storm period in
July is central on the fifth cover-
ing the and to the 7th. Tho Moon
is in perigee on the 4th, the center
of the Mercury period. and at ex-
treme declination south and full on
the 5th, the central day of the
Wean storm Period. This is an
exceptional combination of disturb.
in causes, which in all probability
will brim a crisis of meteorological
perturbations within sixty hours
of noon on the 5th.
By the 3rd the temperature will
be reaching the proportions of a
hot wave in western sections. the
barometer will be low and falling
in the same regions. By the 4th
and lith these conditions will hate
a.dvanned eastward to the great
ventral valleys. attended end fol-
lowed by- storms of marked inten-
sity. In all reason this is a period
when tremendous downpours. of
rain and e]ondbnrst should, as a
rule. he looked for, with startling
electrical storms, high winds and
probably' tornadoes. The crisis of
this period will fall about Thursday
the 5th, to Saturday the 7th We
believe that a period of excessive
storms and storminess will be cen-
tral during the present storm
period. This period will be charac-
terized in its first stages by a
phenomenal wave of humidity and
heat, but as the storm areas pass
out of the way to the eastward-, the
barometer will rise rapidly- to very
high readings, followed by sudden
ebunge to unseasonably cool
A reactionary storm period is
central on the 10th, lith and 12th.
This period is also partially under
the influence of the Merentr period.
The Mars and Venus disturbances
are still in full force, and the Moon
is en the celestial equator and at
last quarter. Tho disturbances of
this period will reach their cul-.
urinating crisis on and touching
Thursday the 12th, at which time
the temperature will go much'
higher generally, and black clouds
with blustering storms of wind,
rain and thunder will visit many
parts of the country. progressively
In the usual order from ..West to
-east. Heavy hail storms will attenr
these and other July disturbancese
especially in the great. open grain
regions of the west and north. Ris-
ing barometer, with winds shifting
to westerly and some cooler, will be
the netnral order behind the storms
of this period and for several days
niter they
have passed off to the
Atla
