Mr. H. Silber, M. P. P. for South
Huron, on Monday brought up in
the House the petition of the Vil-
lage Councils of Exeter, Hensel].
and Bayfield and the Township of
Usborne, praying that the Govern-
ment relieve Municipalities from
liability in regard to accidents
which may occur owing to defective
walks or roads. Many other mem-
hers entered similar petitions. They
were all laid on the table for future
consideration.
UNFORTUNATE ACCIDENT.—Many of
our citizens will remember little
Joe Sink, son of Rev. and Mrs. C.
C. Sink, of Port Huron, who were
visiting at E. Bossenberry's last
August. It appears the lad was
walking on the icy sidewalk, slip-
ped and fell on his back with the
result that he is totally blind. The
physicians in attendance have no
hope of restoring his sight. THE
HERALD and acquaintances here ex-
ceedingly regret the sad occurrence
and extend their sympathy to the
boy and parents.
SHOOTING MAron,-An interesting
shooting match was held on Louis
Kraft's farm, Goshen Line, Stephen
on Tuesday between Zurich and
Stephen teams. The Zurich toam
was badly handicapped by some 'of
the best shooters being unable to
be present and we are informed
that some that did shoot hardly
knew what a blue rock looked like.
One of those old Zulus that spread
about a rod square would have
come in handy for them. Alf Zettol
made the highest score for the
Zurich team, while all the Stephen
shooters made good scores, The
following is the score :
