On Monday morning Mr. H. Guen-
ther was quite alarmed when he found
some burnt paper and hay at the rear
of his barn. The hay and paper and
burnt snatches were placed in such a
position as to give one the idea that
someone had attempted to burn his
barn, as it had been placed under the
hay mow. After investigating it was
supposed that some girls hacl used the
paper and hay to make pumpkin
lanterns.
Miss Ethel Kellerman, left this
week for Toronto, where she will at-
tend Normal School.
Mr. Michael Fenn and Master
Graham of Parkhill, are the guests of
Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Kellerman, for a
few days this week.

The verdict of the inquest held
at Skipka on Tuesday Oct. 10th, is
as follows :
The said Samuel Sweitzer .came
to his death trom a shot gun wound
accidently received while engaged
in hunting said gun being ao•
cidently discharged while lying in
a boat in which be had placed
same and no person was to blame
for the accident and everything
was done by those present to 'help
him after the accident that could
have been done. That the'° same
deceased died in the Township .of
Stoehrn in the said County, on the
26th day of September A D. 1911.

THE DRINK LOAD.
A Iarge portion of the people in
hospitals are there through strong
drink. Accidents occur when pees
pee are intoxicated, and many
diseases come in consequence of,
using strong drink, The hospitals
must be supported, and honest, I
