BASEBALL. BASEBALL.
The first ball game of the season
was played here on Friday evening,
between Centralia and the local
team. The first three inning
looked like adefeat for the local
team, and those who know say
that Lee Hoffman onr young
twirler saved the day, as he shut
out the visitors in the last three
innings. Our boys played with
considerable vigor, as did their
opponents, although the play on
both sides could be considerably
improved with more practice. Mr.
Palmer of Exeter, make :e, safe
and impartial umpire : The follow-
