The foxes which are on your track to day are more numerous than ever, and the number of get -rich - quick schemes with which you aro beset is ,also increasing. Kalbfleisch is engaged in bringing in basswood logs per - chased from Mr. John McKinley of Stanley. Mr. P. Lamont has purohased the 50 acre farm, on the 13rtbvlon Line, from Mr. H. F. Weseloh exeoutor of the late John Koch. The price paid is $1000.00. With good prices prevailing for all kinds of farm products, due in a large measure of our rapidly in- creasing home market, the past year has been one of almost unpre- cedented prosperity for our farmers and proves once again that Ontar- io's place as the premier agricultur- al province of the Dominion re mains undisputed. It is pleasing to note the increasing interest taken in all branches of agricultur- al developement and to observe the general commendation of the efforts of the government to make agriculture more remunerative and attractive. If Horses Why Not Money? P. C. Larkin, of the Salada Tea Co., writing in Saturday's Globe, makes an admirable reply to the statement of Sir Edmund Walker 1s to the effect whioh the latter al- leged free trade with the United States in agricultural products would have in regard to annexation The latter, it will be remembered, expressed the fear that farmers could not trade more freely with the United States without being led into annexation. Mr Larkin, in reply, says that he himself has been doing business with the United States for sixteen years and that he now exports many hundreds of goods annually to that country. Still he rinds he is not an annexatl.)nts . He furth- er says that the bank ,t ith which Sir Edmund walker is connected is doing an ever increasing banking business with the United States And set Sir Edmund appears to Give u aei and you will find out that we will use you right.
