Our annual February Clearing Sale is now
on. We have finished stock taking and on going
over our stock have found Many odds and ends
that we want cleared out at once. We have
made the prices so low that they will soon be
picked up. Ail our winter lines are going at

Good ''general servant wanted.
Mrs. J. (4. Stanbury, Exeter
School Inspector Tom is making
his inspection of` the public schools,
this week.
Mr. and Mrs 'tans Schmidt are
visiting with the forteer's sister,
Mrs b. Hartleib,;'
Mr. J. Preeter, was laid up for
a few days recently but • is able to
leave the house',again.
Miss Chidley.of Clinton was the
guest of her sister, Sirs. J. A.
Constantine, over Sunday.
A large number of rarms are
changing hands in this section, at
fairly high prices.
Mr. Conrad Thiel and family are
moving to the house on the Zurich
Flax Co's farm, Wester town,
Miss Maggie Whyte visited
friends in Exeter• and vicinity. last
week.
Mr. Gibson of the Bell Telephone
Co., London, and Mr. Fred Mc-
Donell of Hensall were in town, on
Wednesday.
Mrs. Joseph Wickens, who has
been visiting with bur parents, Mr,
and Mrs .John Hey Sr., of the
Babylon Line, left for her home
near Ingersoll, on Monday.
Reeve Lamont has disposed of
his fine 70 -acre farm, a mile oast of
town to Mr. John Decher, for
$5,300 This is one of the best
located farms In this section, and
the buildings are all in splendid
shape.
About thirty members of the
Ladies' Aicl of tb:e Lutheran church,
assembled at the home of Mrs.
uuvict Schnell on 1'Lesday evening,
and presented Mrs. Schnell with a
handsome °lock An enjoyable
evening was spent by all.
I3r. F. Wickwire of Exeter was
in town on Monday. He has pur-
chased n printing plant at Bayfield
and has had the. s*'me moved to
Crediton, wherer h 'e:tp t is to stitrt
a new weekly paper:
Mr. F. L, Willgoose, Principal of
Conservatory of music, London,
was in town examining pupils of
Miss Elizabeth Rennie for Prim-
ary Piano. Following are the
names, all having passed with first
class honors ; Eva Brown, Pearl
McCormick, Carrie Moir and
Maggie Wilson.
Miss Annie (4ascho a daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. John Gaucho. of the
Bronson Line, died rather suddenly
on Wednesday night, at the age of
about 27 years. Tho young lady
was a general favorite in the
neighborhood in which she lived
and hor early death has cast a
gloom over her many friends. She
had been a sufferer from asthma,
and the sudden attack of bronchitis
the previous day proved too much
for hor constitution. On the Sun-
day and Tuesday previous she was
in town and little did her friends
think that by the following Sundi' '
would her earthly remains be laud
to rest with tho hosts that have
gone before. She leaves, besides
her sorrowing father. mother,
brothers and sisters a large circle
of friends,' who will cherish her
memory to the end. The funeral
took place on Sunday afternoon to
the Mennonite cemetery, Goshen
Line South, and was largely
attended.
