Four Year Old Child Fired Rifle With
Fatal Results.
Tilloonbnire despatch: A fatality
occurred at Beath Lane, al. s'naail village
about ten miles south of this town, yes-
terday. Two young lads named \Vil-
liane and. Piekcrsgill spent the morning
hunting rabbits in the -fields near their
bonito. At noon they went to the Wil -
lime boy's home for dinner. While-
there
Whilethere young Pickersgill placed his loaded
gun in the .corner and knelt on the floor
to muzzle his ferret. Jimmie, the little
four-year-old beotlies of the Williams
boy, playfully dragged the gun from
the corner and pointing it at the Pick-
ersgill boy, said, "I'm going to shoot
you." In some manner the gun VAS
discharged, the shot entering the head
of the kneeling boy, instantly killing
him.
The victim was a bright lad of about
15 years, while the unhappy child i1 a
baby of only four years.

Two Men Fined.

of last night, when most of about five
thousand persons threw bricks and
stones at street cars and smashed
thousands of panes of glass. Incident-
ally they were clubbed by the police
and many of the latter in turn were
struck by missiles thrown •by rioters.
The trouble is said to have been start-
ed by a small boy, who threw a piece
of ice a.t a car. The police chased
him, butt 11e got away. Tllett young
men on the street followed his ex-
ample, Mayor. Geary this morning
said the incident was .very regrettable:'
and was deplored by all respectable
people. This morning the men arrest-
ed appeared in the police court. Sam-
uel Prince and Charles Smith, two
