The Annual Meeting of the Upper
Canada Bible society, Zurich
Branch, was held on Sunday even-
ing in the Evangelical church, as
a union meeting ; the church was
full, every se it being taken up,

and Rev. Mr. Gischler in the Eng-

moved into the shop he recently
purchased from Mr. Louis Prang.
Carpenters have started to put
it new front into Mr. C. Fritz shoe
shop. It is expected that Charlie
Will be back in business shortly.
Tho practice of boys carrying
rifles and guns is a bad one and
should be discouraged by their
parents. Accidents are almost
sure to happen sooner or later and
the time to put a stop to it i,
before any injury is inflicted.
Old people's Day, will be observ-
ed in the Evangelical church, next
Sunday The pastor will preach an

Mr. El. Eilber of Urecliton, mem-
ber of the Ontario Legislative As-
sembly for South Huron, has been
offered the position of Provincial
Inspector of Insurance, which ita.y
been made vacant by the death a1

derstand that Mr, Eilber has not
yet accepted, and possibly may not
accept, but is now considering the
matter. Tho position is a g cud one
with plenty of work and a fair sal-
ary, and we believe the v osk ennldl

those of South Huron's member.
