It is all right for young hien to go west and grow wheat. They can secure good land, oan acquire ow- nership of it,and lay the basis of future comfort, but he advises old folks not to sell out in the province in order to settle in the west. No matter how rich the land may be on a prairie faun, there is of neees- sity-especially in new districts -a great deal that the settlers have to do without. Young people with long years ahead of them, and with high hopos, do not need to worry about temporary inconveniences of anew region. But an elderly couple with a good farm in Ontario, fidendt and relatives within reach with a church they oan attend, and •a cemetery whiohit is their sadpleas• ure to visit now and then, and where some dap, at last, when they must, they would, choose to ,rest, from their labors-sch an elderly couple would probably do well to bide where they aro, and end their days among familiar scenes, and maid the comforts; , they have earned. . c 'let Immediate relief frogPILES Di. SEND THE BLIND TO SCHOOL. • Principal Gardiner asks the assistance of the HERALD in impres- sing upon the parents and friends of children with defective sight the advisability of sending such child- ren to the Ontario Institution for the Blind to be . educated. The Institution, located at Brantford, and maintained by the Government of Ontario free of charge for board and tuition, is a school for the education of children and youths of both sexes, under the age .of twenty•one. It is not a hospital, nor an asylum, nor a home, but a school where children, who cannot see well enough to attend the Public Schools, are given an English education (including music) and taught to do such useful work as the blind are capable of doing: Sttrh education and training must promote . the eomfort, happiness and independence of those who are deprived of the blessing of sight, therefore the HERALD recommends those interested to correspond with H, F.
