After two years of successful teaching in the Drysdale public school, Miss E. A. Horton of Chisel - burst has tendered her resignation to take effect at Easter During her sojourn in the village Miss Horton has by her courtly com- plaisance and friendly disposition, created a large circle of friends who will deeply regret her removal from their midst. Sunday came in with a rather wintry appearance, but the snow soon disappeared before the rays of the sun. A religious body of people are• holding meetings in what used to be Gosseian's store. How long the meetings will continue we cannot say. Many persons feel offended be- cause their comings and goings are not mentioned while those of others are, and wonder what the matter can be. The explanation of the matter is that the editor moans to be unpartial, but some escape men. tion. The likes and dislikes of an editor have nothing to do with it, and while it is not pretended shat the editor is more thau human he knows that the success of his jour- nal depends on his fairness and im- partiality to all.. It is the best way always when a notice is desired to mention it to the editor, or -com- municate through the post orrice. No one feels worse about any seeming neglect or partial perform. anoe of ditty than the editor him- self. 4'y !x. ri1 telephone, in a farmer's house, not only enables him to ketol, constantly po ted. as to market prices, but saves him need - "OSA trips to town. 11' a telegram or other important message conies, it can be delivered, without loss- of time, It will, at a inntnent's :notice, summon a doctor and may be the means of saving your wife or your child's life. There are no new developments in the Kinrade case at Hamilton. During the proceedings before the coroner's jury Mr. Blackstock, who conducted the case for the Crown, subjected all members of the Kin - rade fancily to a searching investi- gation, every available part in the family history being ruthlessly ex- posed. In particular Mr. Blackstock pressed heavily on Florence Sin- rade, the girl who was with her sister at the time the shooting oo- cured. Miss Kinrade, in answer to the questions of counsel, said she did not know the man who did the shooting.' Counsel warned her of the seriousness of her position from the fact that she was the only other person with her sister at the time. At the oonolusion of her ex- amination Miss Kinrade fainted and then passed auto an hysterical condition. The inquest has been. adjourned until Friday night. -_
