near Wise's Corners, about four miles.
from here. Mr. Perdue was driving
home froin town with his wife when
the horse took fright at two boys pass-
ing on bicyclew. . He apparently lost
control of the animal, and the rig
struck a' telephone Pole and was over-
turnecl in the ditch. Mrs: Perdue was
severely shaken up, and picked . up
unconscious, but to -day is reported on
the road to recovery.
Mr. Perdue was 69 years of age.

daughter, and there are several sons,
one at home and one with a dredging
company in Louisiana.
It is not likely that an inquest will
be ordered.
Tho Ontario Hydro-Elecriot Com-
mission is now engaged in making a
survey of the route of the ill-fated
Ontario West Shore Railway, which
dissolved under the management of
John W. Moyes, leaving a score of
municipalities in Huron and Bruce
paying intererts on worthless bonds.
The engineers went out tQ thoroughly
appraise the line and make an esti-
mate of the material on hand, and is
understood that they will also report
on the eligibility of the route with a
view to incorporation in theprovincial
radial system. The lino runs from
Iriiron Township to Goderich, and
scene of the grading was completed
before the failure occured,
