The questions covered were on the old testament history and were a fair test of the work taken op by the class far the past three months. These ex- aminations are conducted by Bev. F. C. Berger of Cleveland, Ohio, general secretary of Sunday Schools and Young Peoples Alliance. After the examination all retired to the parson- age where they were pleasantly enter- tained by Rev. and Mrs. Becker and partook of a daintylunch. The deceased was born in Germany, but in tarly life immigrated to Canada where he located at Zurich Ont., a place where many of the Ger- man people of central and western Pembina county originally came from. In 1885 he came west with his wife and family, first locating in nothorn Minnesota and subsequently remov- ing to Manitoba. In the spring of 1870 lie removed to western Pembina county, N. Dalt. locating near the. present site of the village of Concrete. Hero lie lived. the balance of his life.
