Mr. John Hoffman of Dashwood, was in town on Friday last, The four W's spent Monday even- ing at the home of Miss Clara Fah- rner. Mr. Bert Clark and daughter Marg- arie of Exeter, -visited in town on Tuesday. Mr. W, • Bradshaw, teller in the Canadian .Bank of Commerce, spent Sunday and Monday in Toronto. Mr. Ben Holtzmann of Saskatoon, Sask.. visited in town on Tuesday and Wednesday. Mr. Freeman Morlock of Bleinhem, is visiting friends and relatives here for a week. Messrs. Wm. Brown and Lee Hoff- man of Zurich, spent Sunday even- ing in town. Miss Buelah Smith started to work in the millinery department at 0. Zwiekers this week. Mr. Elmer Sheardown of Goder- ich spent Sunday and Monday visit- ing his mother. 1'Ir. Aaron Wein, who has been visiting in Pigeon, Mich. and other places, returned home on Saturday last. Mr. B. Brown went to London, on Friday last, with his son Lorne, who will take medical treatments for his leg. Mr. and Mrs. Meadcl, who have been visiting friends and relatives here for sometime, returned to their home out West on Tuesday. A Georgia man shot himself when his sweetheart refused to give him a kiss. We publish this so that Cred- iton girls won't allow the Local boys to go and shoot themselves. On Monday evening of this week a brass band was organized. The fol- lowing officers were elected: President Garnet Sweitzer, Vice Pres- ident Earnest Gettinger, Secretary Frazer Brown, Treasurer Mose Faist, Leader Herb Eilber, Assistant Lead- er Matthew Guenther. The band consists of fifteen members at present and a number of others will join shortly. They will have their first practise in the Town Hall on Friday night, On Saturday last Mr. Fred Heist had a ware house moved from the flax mill barn to the premises of Mr. Dan Mclsaac by two traction engines owned by Smith and Hill. Mr. 3. Henhofer of near Dashwood, while he was passing the building in front of Youngs hardware store his horse took fright and the buggy struck a tie post breaking the shaft and throw- ing Mr. Henhofer over the dash- board but wasn't seriously hurt, the horse was stopped a short distance up the road. On Thursday evening last our hock- ey boys drove to Exeter and played a game of hockey which resulted in a tie 2 to 2. Tho score at have time was 3. to 1. The following is the line- up. Turner for a few days recently. Mr. Jas MoNalley was laid off for a few days owing to grippe but he is better again and able to resume his work as mail carrier. Miss Margaret Arnet of Brussels was the guest of Miss Mable Turner last week. Mr. Forrester of Clinton is reliev- ing Mr. eliev-ing.Mr. Edgar Pattison at the G. T. R. station this week. BAYFIELD The Ladies Aid of St Andrews will hold their annual St. Patrick enter- tainment on the evening of Mar 17th. A church social will be held at the home of Walter Wallace in the near future. A delegation is to be selected .fiom the council for the purpose of meeting the Railroad Magnates at London, for the purpose of advancing the West Shore Railroad.
