Under the above heading we are go
Mg to discuss the various kinds of
Sherwin-Williams prepared paints.
ee.At, will be remembered that The Sher -
Win -Williams Co. make a different
• feaint for different purposes and sur-
faces. '21e first paint we will discuss
is the regular S. NV. P., prepared, for
• 'outside as Well as inside use paint
may be purchased prepared ready for
use or the materials may he purchased
eait the paint mixed by hand. Where
you. can trust the maker the prepared
, paint is much the better. Before
• paints were prepared and sold ready
for use, the principal materials used!
in malting paint by hand were white '
lead and linseed oil. These materials
did not make an ideal paint. They
., were good as they went but they did
not go far enough. It has been
found by many severe tests and trials
.... that better paint can be produced by
combining sine in right proportions
with pure lead and ptire linseed.. oil.
• The bas e of Sherwin-Williams 'Paint
the Vari0118 shactes is a, correct com-
bination of theseingredients. These
materials are intelligently and honest
ly handled so as to give the maximum
- paint value in ettela can. It has been
-oneette unteneeilor over fourty years
and is sold wherever good paint is
used. The man who buys lend and
. oil and prepares ib himself cannot
possibly make a paint equal to The
Sherwin-Williams Paint. Another
point of superiority of prepared paint
is its covering capacity. per gallon.
Lead. and oil will cover only about
225 square feet per gallon with two
co'ats, whores S. W. P. covers 425 sq.
feet per gallon two coats. Therefore
although S. W. P. may costa little
.• . more per gallon it still is cheaper in
the end allowing for its covering cap-
acity, and it is better mixed, better
ground and better prepared than any
lead and oil paint can be. Specify
e • S. W. P. when you have a paint job.
We also sell lead and oil.
Maple Syrup
One of the most interesting and
ey happy events in the life of a Canad-
ian farmer's boy or- girl, is the season
• of Maple Syrup and maple sugar
'• making. When the sun comes out
warm and the winter's snow begin to
disappear, then they know that the
•:sap run. What fen it is to tap the
•',-•;41.-pea, then to gather the sap, to keep
the fires going and testing the' steam -
hie liquid then tasting the syrup anti
. ab last .best of all, sugaring oft. The
time to peepere for boiling syrup is
• now. If you intend getting a, 'new
sap pan give us your order now. Otir
heme-made sap pails are good ones,
'cost a little more but they last longer

An exciting game of hockey was
played on the Hensall rink on Fri-
day evening last, when our boys show
od theie colors by scoring 7 goals
against Ilensall's hard fought 2.
The game was rough at times and
Hensall put of their own referee
Whitesicles, who aid what he thought
was tair, and good enough for our
boys, who take what they get like
good sports. There is one thing lack-
ing for the boys, which is practice on
a rink.•
