Christmas Eve Services -The us-
ual Christmas children's service of
the Lutheran Church, will be held on
Christmas eve Dec. 24th, -Two pro-
grams will be rendered, a German
and an English. You are cordialy in-
vited to attend this service and bring
your friends with you,
TheChristmas entertainment of the
Evangelical church, Zurich, will be
held on Thursday evening, Dec, 25th.
One of the finest programs ever given
in Zurich, will be reudered by the
school. A large nninber of the mem-
bers of the school, including the prim
ary, secondary and adult Bible class-
es will participate. The beautiful
Cantate "The Holy One of Israel,"
unique and beautiful in its composi-
tion, instructive and uplifting in its
character, and inspiring and influen-
tial in its rendition will be given.
Come early and secure a good seat.
Remember the crowded house last
year, when even standing room was a
premium. Doors open at 7.00 o'clock

A Regular Storm Period covers the
18th to 24th, being central on the
20th. This
period iod is at the central
crisis of the winter solstice period.
On and next to 20th, 21st and 22nd,
a very low barometric area will deveI-
op, storms of possibly rain and, thun-
der will pass eastwardly over the
country, but‘rain will turn to slept,
snow will follow sleet, and genuine
blizzards will sweep out of the north-
west and reach all northern to central
parts of the coutry, by the evening of
the 23rd. The barometer will rise
very rapidly to very high readings,
immediately on the western sides of
these storms, causing high northwest-
erly gales and change to very cold
woa111er. This cold wave will reach
far L 'o the southern state,s,and south
atlantic ooasts, endangering tropical
plants and fruits, With very low
barometer in the 'south, and steep
gradients reaching back in to high
barometer noramarcl, there will dan-
ger of frost and freezing all the way
tai the gulf coasts, and precautions
