It was a great shock to the family when the discovery was made. She was about ,fifty years of age. These with papers and discussions by teachers of the county will make up an interesting an in- teresting and instructive meeting. There is a new post office ruling which imposes a fine of $800 or a yeses -imprisonment to anyone who through carelessness or otherwise tak- es mail from the post office not belon- ing to hien, and fails to return it im- iuediately. This applies to newspap- ers as well as letters. To say it is a postmater's fault cuts no figure under the ruling. Better look over the mail before leaving the office. Mr. A. 3. Mc14Turray of - Clinton wassunimonsed to Toronto one clay last week to answer in. the; police court to' the' charge of haying disturb- ed the services in one of the city churehes on the previous Sunday by blowing his automobile horn. Mr. McMurray had little difficulty in proving that he was in Clinton de- cprously attending his own, church on that Sunday and consequently he could not have been guilty of the charge. He was accordingly dis- charged, but he had to pay his own' expenses. The policemen had • made a `mistake in the number; In August's official bank statement an item of interest is total circulation which increased about one million dollars over a year ago. The increase during the month was $6,693,508. The excess this year is clue largely to the movement of the western crop which is nearly a month earlier than usualy this year. Total circulation for the month was $105,806,814, Business deposits showed a fair in- crease of nearly two million for the .:months, while saving deposits fell off over two millions. Total deposits were nearly' twenty seven milli.onsless than they were a year ago. Call loans in Canada were reduced nearly 'eight million since last year, while 'those outside Canada were. twenty five mil- lion less. This was partly balanced .by increased current loans within Canada, where all the money avail- able was needed, Total deposits in Canada were $977,000,000 while cur- rent loans in Canada were,,`, 668,000,- 000.
