Ma. August Kuhn of Cobalt is
spending a few days at his home

Mrs. Fred Young who has- been
visiting in London for the past few
weeks has returned home.
Mrs. Sweitzer of Hillsburg Kansas,
is the guest of Mr. and Mrs. S.
Brown.
Mrs. W. L. Siebert of Dashwood is
spending a few days with Mr. and
Mrs. S. Brown.
Mrs. Frank Reeder of Lieury visit-
ed her father, Mr. Geo. Lawson on
Sunday.
Mr. mad Mrs. Chas Girvin of Nile
spent last Thursday in town the guest
of Mr. alad Mrs. Herb Either.
Mr. Thos. Appleton is at present
erereting a 'Brick hen house and pig
pen combined. Mr. Appleton intends
going into the chicken business on the
large scale.
Mr. Jas. 'Lawson was in Parkhill on
Friday. Mr. and Mrs. Lawson leave
next Tuesday for a trip through the
West, visiting all the large cities and
other places of imporlance. They
will be gone about two months.
Mrs. White of Toronto visited for a
few days with Mr. and Mrs. S. Brown.
Mr. Henry Voelker of Detroit is
visiting his parents this week.
Mr. David Rau spent last week in
Toronto:
Miss Ella Link is spending a few
days with friends in Zurich.
Mr. Harry Beaver of Hamilton is
visiting in tewn for a few days.
Miss Lulu Gaiser who has been at-
tending the Collegiate in London is
home for the holidays.

er with families picniced at the Bend
on Monday.
A number from here took in the
annual picnic at Centralia, on Tues-
day.
Mr. Jas. Mills and Henry Kith -
cart of London, spent the holiday the
guest of Mr. and Mrs. Wm Sambrook.
Mrs. Robt. Clark of London is
visiting with Mr, and Mrs, Jas, Hod. -
gins for a few days.
Miss Mildred Biown who has been
teaching near Zurich is home for the
holidays.
Mrs. Aron Brown of Blenheim is
isiting friends and relatives in town
or a few days.
Mr. Harrison Becker principal of a
chool near 'Waterloo is spending the
Ioliclays with his parents, Rev. and
Irs. Becker.
We understand that the staff of
eachers of our school have all re-
igned. The trustees have all engaged
principal and will have a full staff
when school re -opens.
Crediton is a nice place to live in.
Our people take great pride in keep-
ing their lawns beautiful, now
wouldn't it be nice if our town fath-
er got some person to cut the weeds on
the Main Street.
Rev. S- R. Knechtel, presiding elder
of Berlin conducted quarterly services
in the Evangelical church on Sunday.
There was also a special service on
Saturday afternoon; which was ad-
dressed by Rev. Mr. Kneehtel

village.
The Methodist Sunday School pic-
nic which was held at the Bend on
Friday last was a splendid success.
One of the interesting harts of the
afternoon sports was the genie be-
tween Crediton and Zurich which
ended in a tie of 1.1..
FARMERS' INSTITUTE EJECT
OFFICERS
The annual meeting of the Seidl
Huron Farmers' Institute was held in
McDonnell's hall, IIensall, on Fridai

had been held, but owing to "the in-
creased cost in holding the Institutes
the finances are a little low. It was
decided for the coming year to hold

Wm. Cornish, of Marietta, Mich., a
former resident of Grand Bead; lost:

A new shed is being built at Main,
St. Church. The building will be
constructed of cement blocks with
iron roof and will add much to ' the
appearance of the church grounds.
Mr. J. G. Jones leaves shortly for
Great Britian, He will be joined in
Detroit by Dr. Harriston.
A uniform salary of $1,800 to all
Itfodol School teachers has been de-
cided upon by the Ontario :Depart-

Clubine—Parsons—A quiet . but
pretty wedding was solemnized in
James street Methodist church on
Thursday morning last, when Mary
E. only daughter of Mr.' and Mrs..W,
Parsons of town was united in mar-
riage to I. S. Clubine of Windsor.

Only the immediate friends and rele
tives were present. The bride. who
' a s dressed in a gray travelling suit--
-was given away by her father,'After
the ceremony, fir. and Mrs. Olubine
motored to Centsaline; where • they
took the train for Toronto. They in-
tend spending a few weeks in Toron-
to, Niagara Falls, Buffalo, Peterboro
and other places,. after which they
will return to Exeter for a few days
prior to leaving for their home in
Walkerville.

HENSALL
Another June wedding took place
of last week at Hensall, this time at
home of Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Davis,
when their only daughter Etta, was
married to Mr. A. W. E. Hemphill,
one of the most prosperous 'and pro-
gressive young business men of _ Hen -
sail. The ceremony was performed
by the Rev Mr Smith in the presence
of a goodly number of the relatives
and friends of the young couple. The
bride, who is one of Hensall's most
accomplished and popular younglathes
was attired In a neat and becoming
travelling suit. Little Miss Ola Cook
acted most charmingly as flower girl.
After the -company had partaken of an
admirably served wedding luncheon
Mr. and Mrs. Hemphill left in their
auto for a honeymoon trip to differ-
ent parts.
