The MOLSONS BANK Established 1853 Opened Branch in Huroi Co. 1874 Saving Bank Accounts Solicited, Zurich 'Branch R. T. DUNLOP,Manager FAREWELL SERMONS On Sunday the 29th of June Rev. C.C.J. Maass preached hisfarewellser anon. The church which as a tribute of honour was beautifully and aris- tically decorated by the Ladies' Aid, was filled to overflowing with the parishioners and friends of the de- parting Pastor, many of whom had come from Dashwood. The pastor preachod on two texts, the former be- ing: Acts 21: 17, "And when we were come to Jerusalem, the brethen re- ceived us gladly." On the basis of this text the Pastor dwelt on his work and ministry during the 5- years of his pastorate, thanking his parishioners for so much love and kindness shown to him and for the patience with which they had borne his frailties and weakness. The second text was taken from: 1 Cor 16: 10 "Now if Timothous comes see that he may be with you without fear; for he worketh the word of the Lord as I also do," and it gave the pastor an op- portunity to adomonish the members of the congregation to meet the new Pastor with as much love and kind- ness as was shown to him. After benediction was pronunced the Pastor bade farewell to each of his parishioners personally. The evening service was connduct- ed in English and again the seating capacity ,of the church was again taxed to its utmost. The pastor had choson for his text; Rom. 16: 22, "0 Tertius, who wrote this epistle sa- lute you. in the Lord."` The pastor drew the attention of the audience to facts. 1: Here we have a remarkable example of the power . of common faith. 2: From this verse we draw the thought of the dignity of subordinate work. 3:This verse teaches us which is the best thing to be remembered by. The pastor soized the opportunity of thanking :Miss C. Hess, miss Pletch, Criss Link and 1rr. Goodwin who by placing their gifts at the service of the Charch had beautified the service to such an extent, that this will be one of the swsetest recollection bq can •, .:ter, to his new biome. E.
