SOMEBODY'S BOY
All over the land they fall and die,
And their funeral trains are passing
by
o.the unloved gi:axes in the pauper's'
or the clrunkarcd's death is soon for-
got;
ut someone will rise in the drunk-
ard's stead,
hen the drunkard today lies still
and dead
hell fill the place of the life that's
o'er?
ho'll take his place at the bar -room
door?
is somebody's boy who will fill the
place
omebody's boy with his fair young
face;
is somebodys boy is it yours or mine
hat will fill the place in the drunk-
ard's line?
e see the mournful funeral train,
The sodden heart and the reeling brain
We see low down in the noisome grave
he man who once was noble and brave
We can hear the wail of a helpless
child
nd see_thedrunkard by drink made
wild
he wretched homes and the wasted
dives,
The wailing babes and the mourning
wives
ut
somebodys boy will fill the place,
Intho broken ranks of the drunkard's
race
Tissomebocdy's boy, is it yours or mine
Gods that will- march in the drunk-
ard's line?
he drunkards are dying one by one,
heir cups are full and their race is run
ver they pass to the unseen shore,
ut their ranks are as full as they
were before
heir ranks are. as full, for the boy
today
ho drinks with the rest in a `manly
way"
Vill be in the future the drunken sot,
or a wasted life is the drunkards lot
is somebody's boy: Gocl grant it be
of the boy we loved in his infancy,
will be somebody's boy, for the
power of sin
surely drawing our darling in;
o let us watch with tears and prayer
hat the boys we love will not march
there.

A PAPER TO SUIT EVERY ONE
The oldest newspaper in the world
was •one named the "Wochenblatt,"
which was published in Gruningen, a
small town of some 1,200 inhabitants
in the Canton of Zurich, in Switzer-
land. It was the only newspaper in
the place, and was at one and the
sane time the organ of the Liberal
Conservatives and the Social Democ-
rats. Pages one and two belonged to
the Liberals and pages three and four
to the Socialists, and the two parties
abused one another heartily in its
pages.
