The action of the county council in
cutting the grant to the hospitals in
the county : in two is one that will be
.open to a great, deal of'l adverse criti-
ctsiin, At' any time this : county has
not been over generous in its treat-
ment of our hospitals, as compared,
for instance, with the adjoining Coun-
ty of Bruce, which makes a grant of.
$2,500 each to the hospitals at. Walk-
erton. and' Kincardine. We feel that
probably members of the county coun-
cil do not at all realize to whet ".ex-
tent our hospitals are serving the
county outside the towns in which
they are located. In 1923, 280 patients
were treated at the Wingham Hospital
and two thirds of the number came
the town.,
outside from 'rhe.. county,
Possibly the council only need to have
these facts brought out to rectify the
matter of the grant at their next Ses-
sion,
