He passed to his Eternal Rest at his home on Diagonal Road, on Stinday afternoon after- a couple of days ill- ness. He was in failing -health for some time and he and 14rs. Stewart spent last winter in California with a view to building him up with a change of climate.' On Thursday he was at his office but went home early. . Mr. Stewart intended acting as De- puty .Returning Officer in W-ard, 2 in the recent municipal election. He was clerk of the Divisioa Court for the past eight years and engaged, in the real estate, and insurance business. He served a year as, town treasurer and was an active member of the Orange Association under, whose-ausplees' the *funeral waS'conducted on Wednesday afternoon. to Winghani cefnetery. Ser- vice was held in the Methodist Church ,and conducted by -the pastor, Rev. C. E. Cragg. ' The late Mr. Stewart was born in Bluevale and lived in this vicinity practically all his life. He was a black smith by trade and had shops at Bel - more and Belgrave. He later conduc- ted a hardware store at Wingham. Besides his widow, he is survived by one daughter, Mrs. A. J. Ferguson of Auburn. Three brothers and two sis- ters also survive, vix.: Mrs. Abram Procter and Mrs. Martin Masters of Morris; W. H. Stewart of Milton; Thomas of Bluevale; and Dr. R. L.
