Society was held on, Friday, March

Boys'Bicycle Club
Mr. W. A. Curie takes a deep in-,
terest in the boys of the Wingham
Bicycle Club and he has gone to the
trouble to make a bicycle trainer.
This is three large rollers placed firm-
ly in a frame, the two at the•back con-
trol the back wheel of the bicycle: and
the front wheel`of the bicycle runs on
the front roller. The boys are having
some'great fun and healthy exercise
on it. 'On Thursday evening, Ralph
Carr rode four miles in an endurance
test. Elliott Fells stayed on the wheel
12 minutes and went t .. 8110 ,miles,
while Jim Carr stayed on to minutes
and ran t 2110 mites. Mr. Currie re-
warded the boys by presenting the
winner with, .a pair of cuff links„ and
as a secondprize, gave a tie pin.
A Field Day will be held in Wing -
ham on the afternoon of May '24th.,
when competitors will he present
from all parts of the county.

Institute. Paper towels should be a
means of encouraging, the childrewin
cleanliness, one of the first principals
in Health Education. The roller tow-

owel has long since been condemned as
a 'source of infection, and it is hoped
that the School Boards may see fit.

Institute met on Saturday afternoon

present. The chief feature -of this
meeting was a debate, "Resolved ""that
Middle Age Surpasses Youth in the
Joy of Life." .The • affirmative was
upheld by Mrs. (Rev,) McKenzie,
Mrs. Thos. Abraham and' Mrs.'Gowdy,,
while the negative being Miss Bertha
Marshall, Miss Edna,Lincoln and Miss:

received. word on Tuesday of the death,
of his brother, W. A, Shaw, which oc-

great prosperity. Mrs. Jos. Shaw left
