-vale branch of the Women's Institute

representative meeting and carried

Arrangements were made for'—having:
a. play presented under the auspices
of the Institute next month. Sonie
,discussion took place on the work off
iiVtad soldiers. The Institute lunch,.
for discussion. Brief papers were
read on topics of present interest.
The members answered the roll call
by each giving "my own superstitiorP"
and the replies provoked much merri-
ment. The music provided by Misses
M. Garniss and C. Diment was heart-
ily appreciated, as was also the hopit
ality of the. hostess, Mrs. Diluent.
The sixth Bluevale School Fair held
on Wednesday repeated its former

Two juvenile orators, Ethel Johnston
and George Mines delighted the audi-
ence. The first Clayton Duff Special

A lively baseball game occupied
part of the afternoon and the program
of sports was rtin off toward the close
of the day. .
After the fair a gopd supper was
served by the ladies, of --the four sec

ing was much enjoyed.'Mr. ]3engough
occupies an unique place as an enter-
tainer. His cartoon. dratvings are un-.

and delicate. The, chorus, ,conducted
by Mr, Frank Hill of Winghani, sang
the sweet old songs which everyone
likes in Ta way to reflect credit on the:
conductor anal the singers,- „Mr. Davis,
bandmaster of Winghana, pleased ev-
eryone 'with • his cornet solos. Rev.
Mr. Wilkinson, who acted as chair-
man,,: gave' a pleasing address.
The total proceeds of the day were
$200.00.
The sixty-fourth' Anniversary

will be observ=ed on Sunday, the first

While raising the frame of the new
Agricultural Building,here on Tuesday
afternoon,. Mr, A. Hutchison of the
2nd.' con. of Howick, met with a ser-
ious accident. 'bWhen.one'of the bents
was beim; raised the foot; of one post
slipped, causing the bent to fall and
Mr. _Iluteltisoti was caught bench
it. He was taken out unconsci us
and rushed to ;Dr, Jeffray's office.
However, he regained consciousness
before reaching there and was able to
walls into the office. At last reports
lie was getting along nicely.
