A NEWTS, . BOY
(Written for The Advance -Times buy
T. A. Calhoun, London.)
There'S a little boy I meet?
Every morning on the street,
As he tosses in his papers at the
doors,
For the anxious ones who wait
In a seini-conscious state, 6
To peruse the latest scandals and the
scores.
Now this little boy I meet
Every morning on the 'street,
Always smiling as I pass him on the
way,
His "Good -morning so polite
Fills my spirit with delight,
)And it helps me thru r the balance of
the day.
When the morning sun is hid,
By a cloud, this little kid
Just the sante as when the sun is
shirring bright,
Greets me with a happy smile
That will linger for awhile
After other scenes have faded out
sight.
In the winter's wildest storm,
With his papers on his arm,
Oft I meet him in his little suit of
gray'r .
And., he lifts a little song,
That should start the world along,
Like'°a robin on the twenty-fourth of.
May.
of
I, have never asked his name,
Nor enquired whence he came,
Or when his early labor he began,
But I neverpass him there
That I donot breathe a prayer
For a blessing on this noble little
man.
Fame or fortune never smiled,
Ole a braver little child,
'With a pleasant smile for everyone
he meets, •
'In a world so .full of frowns,
Scattering gladness on his rounds,
r. • Pr tole streets,

Crows and Groundhogs
A Turnberry township farmer when
going out the • other morning to do
his chores met a fine glossy ground-
hog sitting up taking a view of the
scenery. This claimed •by some to be
a sure sign of continued fine weath-
er. Another farmer living just west
of Wingham tells us he saw five
crows on his fence near the road, on
Christmas morning.
