FARMER'S CLUBS_ HOLD
MEETING
The annual Business Meeting of the
U. F. 0. and U. F. W. 0. clubs, held
last Friday was a success. Many
clubs were represented and a keen
discussion tools place. The two old
directors, Mr. Jno. Parrish, U,F:O„
and Mrs. Geo. Lane, U.F.W.O.'were
re -appointed. A resolution was un-
animously passed., expressing hearty
approval of the service gendered this
district by .the Manager and staff 'of
the Co-operative Co.'s Branch, Wing -
ham. A motion. wds carried unani-
mously that the United Farmer's Pol-
itically. in Huron be called U. F. 0,
It was decided that an annual fee
of 25 cents be charged for membership
in the ridnig organization, and this
will apply to all clubs.
Mr, W. A. Amos, President of the
United Farmers of <Ontario, and Mr.
G. A. Bothwell of Owen Sound, were
present and gave splendid addresses
Mr. Amos spoke very 'optimistically
of the standing of all phases of the
movement and explained that ih order
to receive the full dividend for cream
from the Co -Operative Company, it
was necessary to be one of two things,
First.—A fully fledged member of the
United Farmers which meant, a mem-
ber of the United Farmers of Ontario,
a member of the Riding Association
of'..lu
C bs, and a member of a local
club or a shareholder in the Co-oper-
ative Co. •
Failing to be either of these, a fee
of $2:0o . was kept off each patron's
divident and used for educational pur
poses in the' interests of Agriculture,
He pointed out that it was necess-
ary in order to protect the meet and
women who had put their time and
money into the company, and he be-
lieved this $2,00 fee served this pur--
very 1 well. ,
Mr. Wilson, Manager of Wingham
Branch of the Co-operative Co., spoke
briefly and pointed ottt that volume
To the Electors of North Huron
Ladies and Gentlemen:
I wish to take this means of conveying ,o the electors of
North Huron my sincere thanks for the magnificent support ac-
corded me in the recent Provincial contest, a result made possible
only by the hearty co-operation of men and women of all political;
parties.
I feel specially grateful to those who gave freely of their
time -and energy, man„ ,of whom are unknown to me, I realize
fully the importance of the ttiisf and confidence thus placed in
me, and will do my utmost to merit your approval,.
