WINGHAM ADVANCE -TIMES
CHILDHOOD ¥EMORXES
(To Brother 'Will)
Do you remember Brother Will
Down on the farm when we •were
boys? •
Can you recall to memory still
Those happy days and childhood
joys?
When life was one continual glow?
That doesn't seem so long. ago,
Do you remember how intense
We followed butterflies and bees,
And chased the squirrel along the
fence,
And gathered gum from cedar trees?
No care or sorrow 'did' we know;
That doesn't seem so long ago.
Do you remember summer days,
When we for berries went in quest,
And how often ere we filled our trays
We, found a yellowjackets nest
Just where the ripest berries grow?
That doesn't seem so long ago.
Do you remember winter play,
When we went gliding down the,
hill,
How Oft We tumbled from our sleigh.
And shared the fate of Jack and
Jill?
And giants great we built of snow;
That doesn't seem" so long ago.
Do you remember when we came
(As time went by) to manhood years?
Wecared 'less for the childish game,
And dried away the childish tears,
And settled down to hoe our row;
That doesn't seenm. so long ago.
But one by one the years have flown,
And ofie by one earth's pleasures
changed,
And now that we have older grown,
We find the unseen hand arranged,
The pathway for our.' feet below,
From childhood days of long ago.

Rt War Bro. Gosse, Grand Organ-

Returned to Toronto
The Griss family, who came from
Toronto a couple of months' ago and
bought out the Jew store from D. Sha-
piro, •left town on Tuesday for their
Toronto hone. They claim they
were badly stung on their purchase
and the people of the vicinity did no
crowding to get to their store. Mr.
and Mrs. Griss were apparently very,
honorable and unlike some of their
predecessors squared up everything
before taking their departure. One
son is a dentist in Toronto, a daugh-
ter a book-keeper,and 'their youngest
son, Murray, is a musician of no mean
ability ,and has just completed a con-
tract playing at the Royat Winter
Fair in Toronto .
