PRESBYTERIANS HONQUR
THEIR MINISTER
On Friday evening of last week, the
members and adherents of Bluevale
and Eadie's Presbyterian congregation
met at the latter; church for social
evening in honor of Mr,Jamieson,'who
has been minister for the past four
months, before leaving for Kentucky
to resume his studies.
Mr. Jamieson was called on to act.
as chairman, -.and he made ,a very
capable one, and told ' some very in-
teresting stories.
A splendid program consisting of
solos, duets, and readings was given,
among thein' being a reading by Mr,
Norman Muir, which turned out to
be the address to Mr, Mr, Jamieson,
which follows:--
Dear
ollows:-Dear Mr., Jamieson:- We, the mem-
bers of Bluevale and Eadies' Presby-
terian church, have convened together
to -night to have 'a few more happy
moments in your company before
you leave us to resume your studies
in college.
We feel we would like to say just.
a few ` words of thanks and appreci-
ation of the noble example you have
been to us all, ever ready to do all
that you were able in everything that
was undertaken, and we indeed feel
most grateful to you for youa unstint-
ed efforts in the trying ordeal through
which our_ church has passed, •
We are indeed well pleased with the
results achieved 'through your gener-
ous guidance. We will often think
of you and of' the help and interest
you gave us as we carry on the work
here. We wish now to express our
deep and sincere regret at your leav-
ing us, but wish you health, happiness
and success in your college work.
Now -we ask you to accept this
purse, not so much for what it con-
tains, but to remind you of the warm
friends you are leaving behind, and
as a slight token of the very high es-
teem in which '`you are held by your
two congregations.
We hope that in ,dome futuretime
we may have the pleasure of hearing
you again.
Signed on behalf of Bluevale' and
Eadies' Presbyterian Churches: —
Jas. E. Nichol, Jno. Mitchell, Jas Kir-
ton, Jos. E. Smith, Mrs. C. H. Garn-

completely unawares, but made a very
suitable reply, He expressed hit re-
gret at having to leave as he had been
met . with such warm hospitality by
his Congregations. The people then
rose and sang, "He's a Jolly Good
Fellow."
Games of all kinds were indulged
in by the young folks, after which the
ladies served a delightful lunch and
the happ yevening closed by the sing-
ing of God Save the King.
