Baseball at Gorrie,
Gorit•e and Clifford were consider-
ed - evenly thatched in the Central
League line up this year, but when
the latter played here on 'Aug. 4th,
there, was no dotibt left in anyone's
mind as' to their true rating.. Our
boys trounced the smart Clifford team
arra wonby a 7--5 scor., Gorrie
should have had a higher standing
this year,but we'll hope for better
things in 1927.

thebaseball team of Dien, played an
exhibition game in Gorrka. The game
was one of the best .played here this
year.. Gerrie surprised the fast .Drell
aggregation by batting their southpaw
for Al runs while Gallaway held the
visitors to 6 nuts . Our fans , had
seen Gorrie go down to defeat twice
at the hands of Drell ,and this victory
restored' their satisfaction and con-
fidence,
Gorrie played a friendly game of

start till 6.30 o'clock, and only five

DEATH OF THOMAS WALKER.
Last Monday death came to one
who has suffered patiently' from rhea-
matisnr for quite a number of years
but was able to be about with the aid

was forced to take to bed: He was

homestead was on the 2nd concesion
of. Turnberry ,where he lived till he.

school. Mr, Walker was a member,
of the Methodist church, and later
the Union, a regular attendant sel-

Francis Thomas Meagher, of Dub-
lin, Ont. ,was almost instantly killed

quite a shock to see a couple of tame
black foxes, They belonged to Web-
