along the road. The car did not run
-over him, but when he was picked up
, he was beyond the power of rnedical

Mr. Krupp had no chance to see the
"lad as he came from the side of the
-truck away from him, and the acci-
dent happened so suddenly that there
was no possibility of avoiding it.
The accident has cast a gloom over
-the whole tommunit30, for the little
lad was an unasually bright and affec-
tionate child. The sympathy Of the
.entire neighborhood is being extend -
•ed to Mr. and Mrs. Martin in the sad
lloss that as so suddenly come upon
stheir home.

on of Monkton, and Roy .Manri of
Jamestown, were immediately remciv-
ed to Stratford General Hospital;
-where it Was found that the former
was' suffering from a broken right
thigh and injuries to the back, while
the latter was also injured M the
back end it is feared possible iriter-
zighnjuries, They were attended by
Dr. Hall of Mitchell.
Just how the accident occurred is
medeterrnined, although it is thought
that the cer got out of control
, through the steering gear becoming
:blocked The car turned completely
enter and landed. upside down across
the ditch in front of the farm, of M.
Regan. The two uninjured persons
itninediately extricated themselves
and summoned aid. Dr. Hall rushed
to the scene • about 8.3o p. in. Miss
Coxon was taken to Stratford Hos-
pital in a Mitchell ambulance and Mr.
Mann was later taken there drt a car.
• Both are at present suffering con-
siderably from shock and will pro-
bably be corifined to the hospital for
some time.

audience during the progra.m. The

all are having a good tirne and en-
joying themselves, The booth tinder
the management of C. Wade, with
A. Bryans, A. Nethery, and F.'Stur-
dy were kept busy doing a ru-hing
business. A vote of thanks was ten-
dered the Cowan Concert Co., and
also Mr. and Mrs. Nicholson for the
-use of their home: Very much of the
success is due to their enth 'slam
and untiring energy. The, vario.us
committees under the leadership of
J. T. 13rydges and Chas. Johnston,.
wardees, are to be congratulad for
their splendid work. The Anglicans
have engaged the same Co., for next
year, providing- all is well. The pro-
ceeds amounted to over $5oo.00

Women's Institute Garden. Party
• Although the weather was "theeat-
ening all day Tuesday, it, remained
fine for the Women's Institute Gar-
den Party in tile town park at night.
There was only an,,average attend-
ance but the supper provided was
wonderful and hearty parteken of.
The McQuillin Orchestra, and the
Lucknow Male Quartette provided
the program and were assisted by
readings from Mrs, W. J. Henderson,
and Bobbie 13aterean of Kansas; also
Highland dancing by Miss Anna

Died Suddenly In Philadelphia
Hon, Geo. Boivin, Minister of

died at Philadelphia on Saturday, fol-
lowing an operation for appendicitis.

Auto Totally Wrecked
A coupe owned by and driven „by
Thonia.s Glenn of Detroit, now lies a
burnt massby the side of the Blue
Water Highway as the result of an
accident on Sunday. Mr. Glenn and
his sister, Margaret, and George Dre-
nna.n, all of Detroit, were motoring
to Ashfield. About two miles from
Goderich the car in attempting to
pass another, swerved in loose gra.vel
and immediately' turned completely a-
round and on turning over took fire.
The occupants barely escaped with
their lives; but no one was injured.
It is estimated they were travelling at
3o miles per hour. "

acted as ushers, Miss Ada Laundy,
Wingham, was maid of honor, Miss
Cecelia Ney of Sebringville, was
bridesmaid, and Ward Lund y of
Blyth, acted as best man. During the
signing of the register, Mrs. David
Ney, Sebringville, sang "0 Promise
Me." The bride looked very charm-
ing in an imported. gown of ivory
georgette, heavily beaded with silver
gloss bLde, a silk embroidered veil
with a wreath of orange blossoms.
The bride carried a beautiful bouquet
of butterfly roses, lilies of the valley,
and ferns. The maid of honor wore
a dress of Champagne georgette with
a picture hat to match and carried a
bouquet of pink and white carnations.

ringville. Guests from Toronto, Buf-
falo, Sarnia, St 'Catharines, Detroit,
Wiarton, Sebringville, Listowel,
Blyth and Wingham attended the
wedding. Rev. Mr. Sehaffter officiat-
ed at the ceremony. The choir was
fully robed and preceded the bridal
party to the altar. The service was
fully choral.
