when Laura Vera, only daughter of

News of theileath on June 3oth,,
the Memorial Hospital, St,.Thomas;
of George Savage was received 'with
deep ' regret here, where Mr: Savage
was generally 'esteemed ,and ;vas not-
cr for his readiness to do kindly acts.
He had been M. C. 'L operator here
for the last four years and for some
time had made his home with Mrs.
W. J. Lindsay aiid her brother, Alex-
ander Carruthers, 'On Saturday he
was operated on for appendicitis at.
the Memorial Hospital, but failed to
rally.
Mr. Savage was born near Wroxe-
ter in Huron County, aiid went .over-
seas with the idsst Huron • i3attalion,
later 't'ransferring to the 13th Battal-
ion in Vranee., His brother, Thomas,
was, kiiledr `iii Fratiee, His parent$
now reside near Canfield,' Oirt,, and
one brother, Robert, is in Buffalo. It.
is expected the remains will be
brought to Mrs. Lindsay's home here,
but the funeral arrangements have
net been eoilipleted pending the air-
lrival of the deceased's parents, `
There died itt Wroxeter on Mon-
day, June 28th., Elizabeth Philip, re-
sect of the late Hugh. Cameron. The
deceased' lady had made her home for
the last few years with her daughter,
firs. Fred Davey, but owing to a fall
some years ago, which injured her
side, she had been unable to be out of
doors much and only those who were
infinite ewith her, knew of hee kind-
ly .disposition and Christian attitude,
Her object in living seemed to be for
the welfare of others. The remains
were conveyed to Grand Valley, Wed-
niesday morning by motor Hearse and
after a short service, at ,the home of
her. nephew, J. A. Richardson, West:
laid to rest in the family plot in the
Union Cemetery. The family who
are living are Duncan of the C. W. P
Company Elsas Ont., Hugh of the,
Grocers 'Co -Operative Co., Tort Fran -
