Storey -Groves Nuptials
A quiet wedding was solemnized at
St. ,Pauls Church, Wednesday morn-
ing, June 16th.; when Olive Mae,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs• T. J.
'Groves was united in marriage to
Louis Russel Storey, son of Mrs.
John Storey and the late John Storey,
Walton, Ont. Rev. F. W. Schaffter
performed the ceremony. After a
brief. ' honeymoon, Mr. and Mrs.
Storey will take up their residence in

Mr. Quirk served the old Grand
Trunk as conductor for almost half a
century and - many married couples of
those years can still remember • the
jokes he often played on them while
on their honeymoon.,
Wedded In Goderich
A marriage of interest to many of
our readers took place in Goderich
on. Thursday last when Mr. George
McDonald of Bluevale was married
to Mrs. Margaret Taylor Wilson of
Goderich. We understand the happy
couple will reside in Goderich where
the bride has a splendid restaurant
business. We -hasten td extend con-
gratulations and best wishes.
Whitechurch Presbyterian Ann..
The Anniversary Services on Sun-
day day June a3th., at the Whitechurch
Presbyterian Church were a decided
success. Rev. Dr. Forbes of Teeswa-
ter was the preacher owing to the ill-
ness of Rev, Mr. McEachern. The
freewill anniversary offering amount-
ed to $6ro. The garden party on
Tuesday evening was also a big suc-
cess, the proceeds of which amounted
to $255• A splendid program was
put on after the supper.
Mrs. W. H. Ferguson Passes , -
A very active woman was Mrs. W.
H. Ferguson, who passed away in
Toronto on Monday, June 21st.,
in her 53rd year. Mr. and Mrs. Fer-
guson moved from Belgrave to Tor -
out y o afew' ears ago and since that
time Mrs. Ferguson has taken a lead-
ing part in the organization work of
the Liberal, Women's Clubs and Asso
ciations, also in the Huron Old Boys
Association.' Her maiden name was
Margaret Irwin and besides her hus-
band sheis survived by two sons and,
one daughter, all in responsible situa-
tions in Toronto.
Interment takes place in "Wingham
Cemetery on Wednesday afternoon.
Services will be held. in R. A. Curr-
ie's Undertaking Parlors at 1 o'clock.

Found Dead Beside Bed
The death of a -well-known and
highly respected resident of St, Pauls
took place- on Sattir.day night when
Andrew Rae passed away from the
effects of a heart attack. The early
part of the evening he had spent with
friends chatting -ad retired about 8
o'clock apparently in his•usual health.
which had not been robust since he
suffered a stroke .about 20 years ago.
Not until" Sunday morning, when he
failed to appear at the breakfast hour
did the family become alarmed and
ritn going to his bedroom found him
lying on the floor beside his bed. He
had evidentlybeen stricken while pre-
paring to retire and had not been in
bed. When the doctor examined him
he pronounced death caused by heart
failure. The news of his death• carne
as a -great shock to his family and to
theclitire community,
The deceased nnan was born in
Downie Township, 79 years ago and
had lived most of his life in St. Pauls.,
He was a member of the Presbyterian
church. He is survived by two broth-
ers, James of St. Pauls, Walter, Dow-
nie, one broth, William having died
'four years ago, Two sisters, - Mrs.
Robert Grieve, St, Marys and Mrs. J.
Thom, Downie also survive. -

Thompson of Wingham, are nephew
and neine of the deeeased.'They were
present at the funeral,

Rev. W, D. McIntosh has returned
from attending the sessions of the
General Council of the United Char-
ch at. Montreal and will preach his
farewell sermon in the United Chur-
ch on Sunday evenirtg, 'leaving the fol-
lowing week for his new charge in
Ernbro, Ont.

ever seen in She United. Church was
held 9i7 Sunday when Sunday School
Anniversary and flower day were ob-
served, Rev: Mr. Wright, Director
of Religious Education in Dippr , t o,
United Church, Toronto, spoke at bot
services. The church was beautifully
decorated with large hanging baskets

marched into the church, each carry-
ing flowers: which were received at
the front by five young ladies who
decorated` a large cross in front of the
pulpit and then bankedthe altar until
the whole front of the church was a
bower of bloom.; . The junior choir
did splendid service in the moining„

Wright spoke to the children telling
interesting stories to show the import-
anceof obedience'- and service.' Six
young men of the S. S. acted as ush-
ers and six boys received the offer-
ing. In the, evening Mr. Wright gave
a forceful talk on "Religion in the -
Home" relating . many incidents itt
his work among the young people. -
After the service the flowers were
sent to the Hospital.

Died In Listowel
There passed away at her home in
Listowel on Saturday, June 19th., He-
len Henderson, beloved wife of Mr.
Thos• Small, formerly of Wingham.
Deceased was in her 53rd year and;

had .been ailing for some time, She
was a daughter of the late William
Henderson of. Morris township and
her death is the first break in the.fa-
mily. pie late Mrs. Small is surviv-
ed by two brothers, W. 'J. and Thos.
Henderson and three sisters, Mrs. -
Hunt of Toronto, Mrs. Pepper and
Mrs. Miller of Detroit.
Deceased was laid to^rest in Wing -
ham Cemetery on Monday,- June last.
She was a most highly respected lady.

trying ordeal through which our
Church has passed.

Smith were pleased to see 'him on the
streets of Wingham on Tuesday, al-
though on crutches. About- six
weeks ago. Mr. Smith was kicked by
a young bullock and while his leg.
Was not broken the ankle was badly
sprained and he has been confined to
the house ever since.
Mr. :Fred Fredenburg of Olden
Sound has spent a few t days in
town making old awnings look _ like
new. His youngest boy, although
only nineteen years of age enj ys the
distinction of being the your St" Fir-
st Engineer on the Canadian Lakes.
