Patterson and two sons of Toronto, and IVIr. Ted Patterson of New York, called at Mr. Robt. Shaw's on their way to visit their father, Archie Patterson at Wingham. Mr. Flern Black received a carload ,of Western Cattle this week. Mr. and Mrs. Erskine and little daughter of Toronto, also Mrs. Sex- ton of London, England, spent the week -end with friends here. We are sorry to report Mr. L. H. °Bosnianon the sick list, hope he will soon be about again. A little girl arrived to gladden the home of Mr. and Mrs. Alex. Cooper Congratulations. Mrs. Ed. Johnston is spending a week with relatives at Toronto. ,Mr. Haddow of Simcoe, is visiting with his daughter, Mrs. A. H. Coombs. Mr. and Mrs. G. Hall, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. McMichael, spent Sunday with friends in. Turnberry. Most of the fall wheat is cut around here and is a real ,good crop. Oats are doing well and have been much benefited by the recent rains. A meeting of the members of the United Church, Bluevale was held on July 15th and the- congregation was organized as a .congregation of the United Church of Canada. The fol- lowing officers were appointed: • Trustees to hold the church pro- perty for the congregation—Alex. MacEwen, George McDonald, Arthur Wheeler, Joseph Breckenridge, Ro- bert McKinnon. Smith stating that his son, Dr. Kent Smith has been appointed Ship Surgeon on the steamship Prince Altfert, and sailed this week for the Mediterranean Sea.
