Master Gordon Johnston, son. of

lairt on the head, while playing at
school, will be another week in Wing -
lam Hospital, he is improving nicely.
Mr Arthur Culbert, 4th con., had
the misfortune to loose his barn on
:the Haines farm Oct 31, by fire, a
.spark from the threshing machine
which was in operation, outside the
barn, the barn was full of hay, it was
soon a mass of flames, with some dif-
ficulty the threshing • machine was
saved. The loss is covered by insur-
ance.
Mr. Will Alton, 9 con. spent a city
recently with his uncle and aunt, Mr.
and Mrs. David 'Ferrier.
Mrs. Ira Campbell, 10 con., left last
Tuesday for to join her husband and
son Floyd in Algoma.
Mrs. Will Baldwin, spent a few

• year old colt, fell into a 'well, it was
two hours before the men got it out.
They had to call on Mr. Jam

windless and soon got it out, not

scratches and a cold bath.

• A very enjoyable evening was
spent in the Forester's Hall on Fri-
day evening- last, when the members
of the Women's Institute entertained
their husbands and. families to a fowl
supper. After the supper theeven-
ing was spent, in games and a short
programme, consisting of speaches,
community singing,a solo by Mr.
Clegg , and reading, by Miss E. Proc-
tor. The evening was brought to a
close by all singing, "God Save The
Ring."

An old and highly respected resi-
dent passed away last week in the
person of Mr, Alexander iindlater,
deceased resided in the village, until
a few years ago when .poor health
compelled him to make his home with
his sons in the west, where he pass-
ed away, The funeral Friday after-
noon was held from the home of his
son-in-law, John. Inglis, Carrick.
Mr. McDonald, Teeswater, took charge
of the service at Belmore.
