the farm of Mr. David Ramsay near
Bluevale, when along come Mr. R.

next ? It is understood of course

Attained a Good Old Age ,
A most highly esteemed old lady
was Mrs. William Tompkins, who pas-•
sed peacefully away at her home in
Wingham On Tnesday morning-, Had
she lived. another day she would have
been 91 years and • it months. The
'deceased was. a most remarkable old
lady, until ,a couple of months, ago,
she was, around as smart as though
she were half her age. She did ver3r
neat fancy work and read without
the aid of spectacles,. • At one time
she conducted a milliaery parlor in
the heart of Toronto. She has also
tra.velled a great deal having ctossed
She ocean several times and visited in
many of the leading cities of Eueope
and the ,old World. She also made.
ten different visits to Western ,Canada,
and visit6d:in most of the, leading cit -
is of the United States. Many old
People might, well take an example
from the ,life of Mrs. Tompkins, al-

life and was loved by all the children

LADIES' AUXILIARY

Annual Report of the Ladies' Auxil-
iary to Wingham General Hospital
The following is a synopsis'of the
Annual Report of the Ladies Auxil-
iary to the Wingham General Hos-
pital from Oct. 12, 1923, to Oct, to,
1924.
The Object of this society is to as-
sist the Hospital Board in providing
necessities for the Hospital. Tile
Auxiliary supplies the •hospital with
bedding, including (sheeting, spreads,
quilts blankets and pillows) towell-
ing, linens, dishes, curtains and num-
erous other things necessary to the
general upkeep.
The meetings of the Auxiliary are
held on the first Monday of the
month in the Connell Chamber, at
3.45. Ladies are cordially invited to
att end. •
The society held eleven meetings
during tile year arid has a membership
Of fiftyttone.
Donation day was held on Nov. I"

arid 16, the ladies made a house to
house canvass of the town and receiv-
ed a liberal contribution, (301 jars of
fruit, jellies, jams and pickles, and a
nice supply of vegetables)..
The Bazaar held May 31, was a
great success, the proceeds amounting

mittee kindly donated $5o.00 to ,the
Auxiliary
