as School Attendance officer for 1929.
This report was accepted' and on mo-
tion of Reid and Campbell Mr. Ir-
win was re -appointed to this office

At the request of a deputation the

fence at lot 31, cons. 6 and '7, also a
small section on side line 30 and 31,
con. 3.
An extension of time was given the.
Collector till February 1st, next to re-
turn his roll for the balance of taxes

In a local church last Sunday in
the ,midst of the service what was
thought to be the blowing of' the fire.

their seats hurriedly and hasten to
the fire hall. There: was no fire re-
ported, however, and the sound of
the whistlewas a mystery. The my-
stery has been solved at last. A lit-
tle boy, unknown to his parents at
the time, had taken a toy whistle with
him to church' and he had taken this
from his pocket during the service
and covering it with his Bands gave
it a long gentle blow, which sounded
like the fire siren at a distance. The
firemen were on the job, at any rate,
