Anniversary services in connection.

funeral of the late Mrs. Rev. C. A.
Tiffin, wife of the former pastor of
Queen St. Church, on Wednesday at

Mr,Isaac Brown's evaporator has
been running the past few weeks and
has given employment to a number

and identified . the goods that were
stolen from his store recently. A
man named Hyatt was arrested near
London, and had in his posses§ion a
large quantity of merchandise. Mr.

Mr. Farrow of Guelph is spending
a few days with Mr. and. Mrs. Rob-
ert Mosgrove.
Mr, and Mrs, Leonard Elliott have
moved to Norval where he has se-
sured a position on the C.N.R. sec-
tion there.
The W.M.S. of the United Church
held a social evening with a good
program of readings and musical
numbers, all much enjoyed. Special
mention might be made of the
Browntown Male Quartette in their
first appearance, was much enjoyed.
A couple of contests were put on,
after which a. lunch was served by
the ladies. A goodly sum was real-
ized which will go toward the W,M.
S. funds.
Mrs. Win. Whitfield, of Gorrie,
spent a few days with her ssiter,
Mrs. Ed. Johnston, 1st line Morris.
The W.M;s. of the United Church
will hold their regular meeting in
