funeral of Mrs. Elliott Richmond, of
St. Jacobs. Mrs. Richmond was for-

been in poor health fo some ti.tne.
She leaves a husband and one son to
mourn her loss.

West China is home on furlough.

'day evening and gave a Sacred Con-
cert. On Sunday, August 5th, they
are engaged to play at Point Clark.
Miss Ross of Toronto visited her
brother, Dr. J. C. Ross, during the
week.
Mr .William McGowan was taken
to the London, Hospital for treatment.
The rain on Sunday will prove
beneficial .to the root crop in this
vicinity.
Mr. Lyal Robinson, teacher at
Humberstone, is visiting his parents,

Toronto on Monday.
On Thursday night Arthur Magee
passed away after being in poor heal-
th during the past couple of years.
Deceased was in his 76th year and
was an old settler here. He is sur-
vived by his wife, two sons, William,
and George, at home, and one daugh-
ter, Mrs, Alex, Elliott, of Durham,
The funeral was held to the Wing
ham cemetery on Saturday afternoon
and was largely attended. Rev. Mr.
Mann of the United Church, Blue -
vale, had charge of the service.
Mr. and Mrs. Alex Moffatt accom-
panied their friend, Mrs. Faggen, and
little Douglas, as far as London on
Sunday on her way home to Kings-
ville.

featured. Refreshments were served
and all voted they had a most enjoy-

the energetic committee.

Theregular monthly meeting of the
Women's Association will be held at
the home of Mrs. Ed, Johnston on
Thursday afternoon, August 1st.
Miss Susie Collie passed away' at
her home here about 5 o'clock Sat-
urday afternoon. She had suffered a
stroke about one month ago and had
been gradually getting weaker. She
was known by a large circle of friends
as she has resided here most of her
life. She was a .member of Bluevale
United Church. She is survived by
her sister, Mary, at home here, and
one sister, Mrs. J. C. Stewart, of Vic-
toria, B.C. The funeral was held on
Tuesday afternoon to the Bluevale
Cemetery, the service being in charge
of Rev. Mr. Mann, Pastor of the C?n-
ited Church.
The regular monthly meeting of
the Women's Institute will be held.
Thursday afternoon, August Sth, at
2.30 at the home of Miss Cora Jewitt.
Mrs. D. J. Falconer will give a paper,
"A Girl's Possibilities," and Mrs. C.
Hetherington will have charge of a
discussion on "The influence of a
cheery, comfortable home." Roll call,
Current Events. All ladies are al-
ways welcome at the institute meet-
ings.
Mrs. Watson and son, of Kincar-
dine spent Sunday at the hone of
the former's neice, Mrs. Stewart
Young.
Mr. and Mrs. ITugh Johnston left
Monday morning by motor fortheir

ing a month with relatives here.

a week visiting at the home of their
son, Mr. Bob Bosnian, at Leamington.

visiting Mrs. Turvey's daughter, near
