a well at Rapid City school anti" struck
a very strong spring of water at 4
depth of one hundred and forty feet
which resulted in a flow of water the
full length of the easing and eight
feet above the ground. It is a pretty
sight •to: see the fountain of ',hater
louring over the casing. 1t is seldom,
they strike an overflowing Well at
that depth in the rock.
gr. Melvin Irwin had the misfor-
tune to lose his fine bank barn, des-
troyed by fire on, Sunday afternoon.
Mr. Irwin was away from home at
the time and had no idea of how it
might have started. Mrs. Irwin who
was home, performed a veryphicky
act by unloosing forty head of fat
cattle that had not been untied all
winter. Most of the contents were
Saved, including a tractor which was
standing on the barn floor.
