NO SUNDAY FUNERALS
'Chcre is e strong feeling in Bramp-

places. T,astweek the l3ratttpton

to pass ;t by-law • forbidding Sunday
ftrnernla, Several arguments were
.1 of funerals such as: They interfere
;with ,Sunday as a day of rest, they
create :a serious Problem for all the
clergymen .on that. day when .their
c.htireh work needs then' most. It
was stated that Sunday funerals have.
been .abandoned in all the large cities.
The Council gave- the deputation a
very smypattietic hearing; and pro-

feeling is strong against funerals be-

A Prayer for Motorists `
"'Peach us to drive through life_
without ' skidding into other people's
business. Preserve our 'brakelining,
that we may stop before we go too
far. EIelp us to hear the knocks in
our motors and ,close our ears to the
clashing of other people's gears, Keep
alcohol in our radiators and out of
our stomachs. Absolve us froth the
mania of trying to pass the other
automobile on a'narrow road. Open
our eyes to the traffic signs, and keep
our feet on the brakes." Harry Mc-
Creary.
Wind Makes Snowballs;
'An unusual phenomenon was noted
on • Monday morning. A light fall
of soft snow occurred during the
night and it was followed by a' high
wind. Wherever the fields got a
clear sweep of wind from the west,
and especially where there :Was a
slope toward the east, small snow-
balls Were blown• over the fields, grad-
ually.;gaininl; size and weight as they
travelled. Some fields were covered
with snowballs in, thea morning and
one of these measured ten inches in
diameter.—Fergus News -Record.
