on winning first at the semi-final ora-
torical for North Huron district at
Belgrave recently, ..
The regular meeting of the 'Wom-
en's Institute will be held on Thurs-
day afternoon, Dec. 13th, at the Irolne
of Mrs. C. H. Garniss. A paper on
"Good form in public places" will be
given by Miss Mary Collie, and Mrs.
Coombs will give a paper on 'Christ-
mas with Dickens". Roll call will be
answered by a donation of Christmas
gifts for the War Memorial Hospital,'
London. Members are asked to make
a special effort to be present, as im-
portant business is to come before the
meeting.
Jas. R. West of Knox College, oc-
cupied the pulpit of Knox Presbyter-
ian 'church on Sunday. The Presby-
terian Sunday school intend holding
a Christmas entertainment on Wed-
nesday evening, December 19th.
The many friends of King McDon-
ald will be glad to know that he is
improving nicely after his recent op-
eration in the Kingston Hospital.
Wm, R. Isbister of the Toronto
Post office staff spent the week -end
with relatives in .Bluevale and Wing -
ham.
Mrs. Sanderson has returned to
London, after spending two weeks
with her father, C. 13. Moffatt.
Miss Doris Aitcheson who under-
went an operation in the Wingham
Hospital last week for appendicitis is
getting along nicely, and her many
friends wish her a speedy recovery.
