cottages at JasperrPark Lodge
A.golf club house, three new bungs-
lows, one of which • is to accommo-
date parties travelling with a private
staff ofservants, and extensionsto the
trail camps, comprise the spring pro-
gram of building at Jasper Park Lodge,
the tourist headquarters of; Canada's
famous Rocky Mountain Park. Jasper
National Park, 5,300 'square miles in
area, is the largest national park in
America. The extensions are re-
quired torovide for the heaviest
tourist traffic westward for years,
as it is indicated by the number of
enquiries and requests for reserva-
tions reaching the offices of the
National Railwae in Cana
Canadian y
da and the United States.
The golf club house marks the
finishing touch of the Jasper Park
golf course, acclaimed by travelers
and players alike to rank with the
most spectacular and :sporting in the
world. The club house will face
up the first and eighteenth fairways,
offering splendid views of Mount
Tekarra and the Whistler range.
On this .course in 1927 over 9,000
rounds were played.
The added provisions being made
for trail riders include a new chalet
at Lake Kinney on the way to Berg
Lake behind Mount Robson. Lake

Shovel Pass and Maligne and Medi-
cine lakes are being extended.
During the past season approxi-
mately 10,000 guests were cared for.
at Jasper Park Lodge. Many other
were not able to secure accommoda-
tion. This is a difficulty, however,
which :should not be encountered
during the coming summer, for in
addition to the enlargement of the
Lodge, a thoroughly modern hotel is
being built in the village three miles
away. It is anticipated that this will
be ready for the tourist season which
commences during the latter part of
May. Jasper Park Lodge is to be
visited by members of the Canadian
Weekly Newspaper's Association after
their 1928 convention at Edmonton.

And, I st tlierc•to see,
This one got there, that one got there
And all got there but me.
The cars they all weirt flying by,
Some filled up to the brim
But those who took just three or four
Must stiffer for their. sin.
We all Must Wear our 'brand new dress
For we do `want to shine,
And Shure they did look very nice,

But I am so very large:, you kir
There was no room for me;

And then I'd crush those lovely frocks
If I'd sat upon their knee,
Some eighty all were there, I'm told,
It was whispered round the town,
But how they did forget their pledge,
I, couldn't gulp it down,
The ice cream tasted good they say,
They ate how many pound?
But not a lap of it I gest,

T,'ut looking' up the opening ode,
Let no envy sour your mind,
But each shall seek the common weal,
The good of all ,mankind.
And a goodly thing it is to meet
In friendship's circle bright,
'Where nothing stains tire pleasure
sweet,
Nor dims the radiant light.

GOING TOURING?
Will you be taking a motor catnpirnt
trip this season? It is one of tlr;,7
most healthful forms of vacationiri
because it keeps you out of doors
all kinds of weather. •
If you aregoing to take such a trip
this summer, don't take unnecessary
clothing. A -pleated skirt and separ-
ate blouse, covered with a coat that
will not show the dust and will be a
protection even in rainy weather, a
small felt hat and woollen hose' and
sturdy oxfords are desirable for driv-
ing. Two silk dresses to be worn
when something dressier is necessary,
and silk hose and patent leather slip-
pers, together with several changes of
underwear, is all that is necessary and
will pack in a remarkably small place,
Yop shouldn't need to carry any more
luggage than you can carry on the
running board of the car,
