ST. HELENS
Mr. John Webb arrived from High
River, Alta. on Sunday being called
house on account of the 'death of his
father and the serious illness of his
another.
The funeral of the late Mr. W. C.
Webb which was held from the Pres-
byterian Church, Lucknow on Mon-
day, was attended by many old friends
and neighbors. The late Mr. W ebb
who until he and Mrs. Webb moved
to Lucknow about six years no was
a highly respected resident of this
vicinity underwent an operation for
mastoid at London last Monday.
Pneumonia developed and Mr. Webb
died on Tuesday evening. Particularly
sad is the fact that Mrs. Webb is
critically ill at the home of her dau-
ghter Mrs, Allister Hughes, Holy -
rood. The family, Jean of Holyrood,
John of High River, Alta, and McKen-
zie on the homestead have the sym-
pathy of the community in their tr.ou-

In. the death of the late Mr. James
McMurchie, Blyth loses;a man of out-
standing ability, well read on the cu4-
rent issues of the day. He was mar-
ried about thirty years' ago to Miss
Edna Curtis who with her two daugh-
tres Misses Mary and Jean survive.
He was a member of the local Mason-
ic Order and in politics an ardent lib-
eral. The remains were \interred in
Clinton cemetery on Monday.

on Sunday.

Mr. and Mrs. Wilbert Mathers and
family 'of Guelph spent the week -end
with the former's parents here.
Mr. and. Mrs. John Anger and fam-
ily of Southampton spent a few days
at the home of Mr. Alex McGee.
Mrs. J. Scott returned home to
West Lorne on Tuesday after visit-
ing with her parents here, Miss Peggy
Garniss returned with her for a cou-
ple weeks holidays.
Miss Brock of Guelph is spending
the holidays with her sister Mrs.`'Geo
Thomson.
Misses Ethel Mather of Brussels,
and Viola of Morris, spent the week-
end at their home here.
Mr. Archie Mcicinney of St. Hel-
ens, spent the Easter holiday at his
Borne.
Misses,Mabel Johnston of. Mt. For-
est, and Ethel of Stratford Normal,
are spending the Easter holiday at
the home of their aprents, Mr. and
Mrs. Ed. Johnston.
