I tink mebby wan av the foinest
tings we hev had in Wingham fer
years wus the Flower Show hill b.e,
the Horticultural Society ladies lash±
Froiday. I am not sittrong oil the
flower growin business inesilf, be ray-
sun av havin rnosht av rue back lot
planted wid, pertaties iviry year, so
that barrin a few gladioliuins an ash-
ters that the misses plants aitch
shpring, an so me shwate pays along
be the fince, our garden is moshtly
filled up wid tings ye kin ate, Mebby
this is a ntishtake, an nixt year, if r.
am livin, I intind to go in mom fer
flowers, just 'to. show Kerb Campbell
an Norman Fry an 5, A. Morton an
Harry Angus aiNarge Shpotton that
they are not the only min in town
wid an oye fer beauty.
Shpakin of )'arge brings me to the
subjickt av the elickshiin, an I am
plazed to say that the,.battle is git-
tin war' um at lasht. A. half hleartcd.
foight has no attracshun fer. an Irish-
man, 1 wet, rather be defayted in a
good upshtandin shcrap than win. in.
wan whin nobody wus lturted, so I
wud. But, av coorse, we, don't intind
to be defayted, .aven wid the whole'
Grit ahrmy—harse, fut an artillery,
agin tis, an the Miss McPhail shnoip-
ers ivi' ywheer. Wan tingabout thim
lads they are bad shots, an hit as
many Grits as they do Tories.
At lasht repoorts our byes wus
shtill houldin the trinclhes, 'an that the
Grits wus about out av ammunition,
an too far from theer base av sup-
plies to do us much harrum, so that
be the toime this is printed I ixpict
the Tory lads will be charragin all
along' the loine an droivin back the
inimy, arr takin thim prisoner be the
hundred.
I undershtand Miss McPhail intinds
to shpake in ,Wingham, an I want
to give a wurrud av advoice to all the
Tory min to' kape Cheer wimmin at
home that noight, fer she kin be pur-
ty shwate wid her tongue whin she
loil;es, an wud nlebby perswade some
av thin to vote as shesez. Yis, Miss
McPhail is "a shmart wummun, an
whin she lambashts the Grits, shure,
it is a pleasure to lishten to her, so
it is, but the thrubble wid her is that
she sometoimes gits aff her subjickt
an hammers us Tories as well; who
dont' nade it, nor desarve it. So, as
I' said befoor, it wud be a woise move
to invoite all the Tory wimmin,to
go to the pickter show that noight,
an kape thim from hearin aliss Mc-
Phail at all, at all, fer they 'haveit
been votin very long an don't un-
ilershtand the pollytickle game the
way us min do, an moight fale ir1/4c1tn-
ed to take the advoice av a wumm.an.
loike thimsilves. It made a lot av
thrubble fer us min whin the wimmin
wuaNgivin the privilege av votin, but
now that they have it, av coorse we
can't hilp pursilves, an musht do the.
besht we kin undher the circum
shtances. Wimmin votin is loike hav-
in wet weather in harvisht toime, fer
afther wurrukin harrudiall summer ye
may hev a lot' av yer crop shpoiled
befoor ye gilt it safe in the barron.
Yours till nixt wake,
Timothy Hay.
P.S.-I tought I wudden't hand ye
in this letther_till afther the convin-
shun, an 'tis the sorry man I am that

MRS. O. MONETTE
There's comfort for all who suffer from
indigestion in this grateful note written
by Mrs. Omer Monette, Montreal: "I
hardly dared take 'Fruit-a-tives', fearing
my dyspepsia wouldn't vanish," Mrs.
Monette frankly confesses,- "but finally
took two b xes. Now I eat well and
, w C ,
recommend `Fruit-a-tives' to all ' my
friends as the best remedy for dyspepsia." t
Mrs. Monette expresses' the sentiment of
thousands of people whose digestions
came quickly back to normal' under the
healing influence of "Fruit-a-tives".
This wonderful medicine is a. combination
of intensified fresh fruit and
juices tonics
Indigestion and biliousness often are due
merely to lazy bowels, liver and kidneys.
"Fruit -a -rives" overcomes these condi-
bons gently and naturally. Get a bob
from your druggist, 25c or 50c. Relish
your food again as Mrs. Monette does.
