Mr, Stewart is eighty-sev- en years old. He dealt with remin- iscences, with special reference to our debt to the pioneers. Mr. George Wylie leaves this week for Kingston, where he .will attend summer school at Queen's University. Miss Edith Vanstone, of London,. is spending•a week in Gorrie. The Garvie girls' softball team at-, tended the picnic held under the aus- pices of Salem Sunday school and played with Salem team. The Gorrie girls won the game. A special service for Orangemen °"`'will be held in °Fordwich United church next Sunday afternoon at 2.30 o'clock Members of the lodges in the district are requested to attend. Rev. F. Craik will preach. Many people from here attendeg the special Confederation service held at Wroxeter last Sunday after. noon. The addresses were excellent, •The funeral service for Mrs. Mar- garet Gamble was held Thursday af- ternoon with a large number of peo- ple eo •ple showing tribute to one of the pioneers. The service was held in the United church, with Rev. F. Craik in charge, assisted by Rev. A. D. Armstrong of 'Wrox•eter. The choir sang an appropriate selection, "When We Conte to the End of the Road." The late Mrs. Gamble lived in How - ick for many years, and was a high- ly respected citizen. The deceased was of .a cheery disposition and glade many friends, and up to a few months ago was able to attend church 'ser- vices. The late Mrs. Gamble was in her 85th year.
