A PUBLIC SERVICE
t:.
Theeditor of a nearby. Ontario
week], spent a few hours with the
editor of this paper, and naturally dis
cussed the printing situation in 'Wing-
hatn. In looking through The
Advance -Times 1925 files, we dig up
a few facts 'which should be known by
the public. During 1925, we found
we had given to the corporation of
Wingham, by way of free publicity
1200 lines of reading 'matter, .boosting
the town. At the regular so cent
rate, this would amount to $/2o worth.
The Wingham General .Hospital, in
a like manner, received $53' worth of
free reading and advertising notices.
The Business Men's Association and
Chamber of Commerce $12 worth. All
the churches received a certain atii-
ount of free publicity, and they would
have been welcome to considerably
more if they had given us the mews
of their important happenings, but
the Wingham United Church evidently
sent us' in the most, for we counted
no less that 978 lines of real boost
ing and free advertising given by` this
paper in 1925 alone. IP ntost cas'es,.
we will be glad to continue' boosting,
as our past efforts have been appreci-
ated. We would not have been
bold enough to have mentioned this
:matter at all, but to proctect ourselves
from attacks which are being made
upon lis, in he hearing' of some of
our friends, by a few, possibly ignor-
ant of the correct situation, who are
