Word was received of the death on
Dec. 10th of Mrs. Bohler of Terrace,
I,. C. Mrs. Bohler was formerly Miss
Jennie Carrick, sister of Mr. Robert
Carrick of Whitechurch. She was
first married to Mr. Jas. Leaver, bro-
ther of lair. Peter Leaver, who pre-
deceased her, and she afterwards mar
ried Mr. Bohler. She had taken a
stroke and pneumonia followed.

BLUEVALE
The schoolroom of the Presbyter-
ian church was filled to capacity on
Thursday evening to enjoy the an-
neal Christmas social under the atls-
pices of the Sunday School. The pas-
tor, Rev. \Vm. Patterson, acted as
chairman, and opened the program by
all singing a Christmas ' w=hich

dialogues by the scholars, and two
humorous dialogues and orchestra se-
lections by the young people of S. S.
No. 10,, Morris, Miss Dobie's school.
These numbers Frere much enjoyed
and appreciated. After singing the
National _Anthem the ladies of the
congregation served sandwiches, cook
ies and coffee, and the superintendent
D. J. Falconer, on behalf of the Sun-
day school presented all the children
with a bag of candy, nuts and fruit.
Play a Huge Success in United
Church
A large crotid of people gathered
at the Unitech Church on Friday night
tc• witness the presentation of the
three act play, "No Account David"
presented by the young people of the
congregation, The scene of the play
was the home of "Gran" Golden, The
old ladies' house-hold'effects packed
ready to be sold and she herself was
to he sent to a charity home, Al-
though
most pathetic at times there
was a' good sense of humour throtgh-
out. An interesting romance sprang
up early in the play which ended
most satisfactory. The play also
carried out a splendid moral. Fol-

The Sunday School of Knox Unit-
ed Church held their annual Christ-
mas Tree and program in the Forest-
ers' Hall, Beigrave Friday night when
the hall was well filled to: enjoy the
different numbers. Rev. Grant • was
chairman. The program consisted' of
an opening - horus, chairtnan's ad-
dress, a song of welcome by Edith
Procter's class of girls, recitations by
Elizabeth Grant, Shirley Chamney,
Mabel Bennett, Muriel Hopper, Stan-

The Christmas Tree and Entertain

and introduced a pleasing program

lowed by a few words of 'welcome
by Mr. Pocock; a duet. by Ruth and
Audrey Bradburn, a song by a num
ber of little girls, a trio by Miss
Nora VanCarnp . singing a solo ac-
companied by Miss Ruth Cole, violin,
and Mrs. VanCarnp piano; a panto-
mite; duet by Herb Wright and Ted
Oxley; Orchestra; vocal duet by
Ruth Cole and Nora VanCamp; a
dance by Verna 'Johnston and Mar-
garet Higgins; recitation, Ruth Brad-
burn; this was followed by a play.
