ADDRESS AND 11FRIMmalMENNEMBMIMMMEMMIWEAMEMMEMMIMI
PRESENTATION
A very pleasant evening was spent
at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John
Tervit on' Monday evening of this
week when about eighty of their
friends and neighbours gathered to
show their appreciation of the splen-
did service given by Mr. George Ter-
vit, sr.,- during his long term as mail
carrier on R. R. No, 8,
The earlier part of the evening was
spent in.card playing and a short pro-
gram, consisting of songs and mouth
organ and. violin selections, Mr. L.
Grain read the .following address,
when Mrs. L. Grain presented Mrs.
Tervit with a beautiful bedspread,and
James E. Currie presented Mr. Ter-
vit with a motor rug and ash tray,
Dear Mr. and Mrs. Tervit,
We have gathered here this even-
ing to show our appreciation of your
faithful and untiring services render-
ed to us during the past fifteen years,
We feel that we are losing one who
has fulfilled the position of mail -car-
rier in a most conscientious manner,
and, who during the long term of of-
fice, has performed his duties with
regularity and unfailing accuracy, and
also we must not forget to mention
Mrs. Tervit, your able helpmate, who
was always ready to give assistance
when needed.
It was with a feeling of regret that
we learned of your unfortunate acci-
dent recently and we sincerely hope
that in the years to come, you may
continue to enjoy the best of health
and prosperity.
We now ask you to accept this au-
to rug and bedspread as a slight tok-
en of our good wishes on your be-
half trusting you will find much com-
fort and pleasure in using them.
Signed on behalf of the Boundary,
Mrs. L. Grain, Ethel Currie.
Although taken completely by sur-
prise, Mr. Tervit made a fitting re-
ply. A dainty lunch was then served
and the remainder of the evening was
spent in dancing, an interesting feat-
ure of which was'a prize given for a
novelty donde and one for the oldest
couple on the floor.
Mr. Tervit also was surprised by
the Post Office .staff, last Friday,
when they presented him with a pipe
and case, also a Waterman pen and
pencil set. Mr. Tervit has :complet-
ed 15 years of faithful service deliv-
ering mail and the office staff wished
to show their appreciation of his ser-
vices now that he is retiring.
