LEISHMAN quality
remains unimpaired.

more imperative; The intricacies of ■
the modern watch, with the mini-
mum size that has now been reach-
ed, reveal a mechanical genius that
is not surpassed .in any other field
and demand more than casual atten-
tion.
The great majority of people do
not lose a moment in running their
motor cars into a garage at the first
sign of trouble and watch their 'lub-
rication systems with keen anxiety.
On the other hand a beautiful watch
with a nnuch more complicated me-
chanical layout, is very frequently
allowed to run year after year with-
out the slightest attention being giv-
en to its lubrication requirements.
The oil may have become clogged,
a sudden jar may have affected the
movement, water may have got in-
side the case with resultant rust, but
it is usually not until the works ac-
tually refuse to function that the
owner hastens to his jeweller with
a querulous complaint.
The modern watch is a marvel of
inventive genius and deserves the
care that any perfect mechanism re-
quires. It is to the interest of the
owner that he take pains 'to protect
what has become not only the great-
est necessity of modern times but
one of the most attractive adorn-
mcmts, and this he can do with ease
by paying a,rvisit to his jeweller not
less than twice a year.
