the last words of the 22nd verse of
the 1st chapter of Ephesians, "To the
Church." which was ably given and
well received by a very large congre-
gation.
Mr. and Mrs. Harry Champion left
by motor for Toronto last week,
where Mr. Champion has secured a
position.
Mr. and MYIrs. A. Carter visited with
friends in Kincardine last Monday.
A large number of local Orange-
men attended lodge at Kinlough last
Tuesday evening when they were ad-
dressed by the Rt. Wor. Bro. C. M.
Carrie of Toronto,` Grand Master of
the Grand Lodge of Ontario West.
BLYTH
Mr. and Mrs. A. H. Wilford spent
the week -end with the former's moth-
er, Mrs. A. B. Carr.
The annual flower show under the
auspices of the. Horticultural Society
was held in Memorial Hall on Thurs-
day afternoon and evening with a lar-
ge display and variety of blooms,
The Gladiolus display was a special
feature and many of the best types
were shown such as. Champion Boyn-
ton, Roy Albert, Fritz Trumpet and
many other standard varieties. Sev-
eral musical numbers were rendered
by the Misses Mills and the Blyth
orchestra, A dainty lunch was ser-
ved. Owing to the harvest activities
the attendance was not as large as
former years, but' the exhibits in ev-
ery line measured up to the high stan-
dard of former years. Taking it al-
together the 1931 Horticultural Show
was a success socially and financially.
An old and highly esteemed and
former resident of this district passed
away at Exeter on Sunday, August
23rd, in the person of Mrs. Charles
Harvey, formerly Mrs. John : Mills.
Her husband and family survive, na-
finely, Mrs. (Rev.) Kane of Dungan-
non, Mrs. (Rev,) Clysdale of Brant-
ford,, Mr. john Mills of Hullett, and
Mr. Wm. Mills of town, two daught-
ers predeceased her. Service will be
held in Queen street Church on Wed-
nesday
ednesday afternoon at . 2.80, conducted
by the pastor, Rev. Eric Anderson.

We are pleased to hear that Mr.
Ralph Cameron, 10th con,, who und-
erwent an operation for a growth on
his cheek, gathered from the effects
of the flu, last Thursday in Victoria
Hospital, London, expects to be able
to return home on Thursday.

daughter, Jean, motored to London
on Sunday.

mily motored to Exeter on Sunday to
