If me mimory isn't playin thricks on
me this is what he wrote -
"A man in the village av Gorrie,
Had a dawter whose pet name wus
Florrie,
She wus •purty and nate,
An shmart on her fate,
But that wus the ind av the shtory."
That young shpalpane av a Sandy
Banks wus gigglin whoile he read his
limerick, as if he taught it wus purty
shmart. Here it is:-
"The
s-"The grittiest Grit arround Gorrie,
Wus shpry as a pink mornin glory,
But he voted for Bricker,
An drank Ferguson's liquor,
Till ye can't tell him now from a
Tory."
"How d'ye loike that wan, Mishter
Hay," sez h4 "I 'loike it about as
well as I loike the shnarling awday-
shus, pugnashus, young rapscallion av
the wurruld who wrote it," I sez, "If

Afther a whoile we got sittled down

don't exactly hould wid it, but the
byes wanted it that way.
